Standing In The Gap and Making Up The Hedge!!!

HE looked and HE saw no one!!!  HE called and no one came!!!  NO one came to stand in the gap!!!  NO one was there to make up the hedge!!!


Ezekiel 22:30 (KJV) And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.


Could anything be more sad???  That GOD could find no one!!!  NO one to do as HE wished!!!  No one to do HIS WILL!!! 


Is there no one to stand in the gap and make up the hedge???

Abraham stood in the gap for the righteous ones in Sodom and Gomorrah. 


Gen. 18:20-25

²⁰ And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
²¹ I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

²² And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.
²³ And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
²⁴ Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

²⁵ That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?


Moses stood in the gap for the Children of Israel and saved them from GOD’s wrath!!!!


Exodus 32:9-14 (KJV)

⁹ And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
¹⁰ Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
¹¹ And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said, Lord, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
¹² Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.
¹⁴ And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.


GOD puts a hedge around HIS people to protect them!!! 


Job 1:9-10 (KJV)

⁹ Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

¹⁰ Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.


When GOD puts a hedge of Protection around you, it is impenetrable!!!  NO one and nothing can get through that hedge to harm you!!! 


GOD allows us to place Hedges of Protection around ourselves and others with our prayers!!!  


But with our words, we create gaps, and cracks and crevices in our Hedge!!!  With our actions, we leave gaping holes in our hedge!!!


When we leave even the slightest crack or crevice unsealed, the enemy will come in.  Just imagine how easy it is for him to come through a large gap or opening. 


We are fortunate if we have friends who are watchful prayer warriors; friends who will pray that GOD NOT allow the enemy of our souls to enter in through those gaps!!! 


GOD is calling us to be Watchful Prayer Warriors FIGHTING IN THE SPIRIT against the enemy to save those that are lost and help set the captives FREE!!!  We fight to help those in need!!!


HE is calling us to WATCH, and PRAY!!! 


Mark 13:33-37

³³ Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

³⁴ For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
³⁵ Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
³⁶ Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

³⁷ And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.


GOD is calling us to be the watchmen on the wall.  HE is calling us to complete the assignment HE has given us!!!  HE is calling us to WATCH, FIGHT AND PRAY!!!  

GOD is calling us to make up the hedge and stand in the gap!!!

Luke 21:36 (KJV) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
