When I read
about Jesus healing this man, I couldn’t remember ever having read about this before. Then as I read the details, I knew that I had
NOT ever read these scriptures before now!!!
And suddenly, it became very clear to me why this particular incident is in THE
WORD!!!
Mark 7:31-37 (KJV)
31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre
and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee,
through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an
impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his
fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him,
Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his
tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the
more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all
things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
Jesus took this
man aside and HE prayed for him privately!!!
Jesus opened this man’s ears so that he could hear and loosed his
tongue, so that he could speak plainly!!!
Jesus took this man to one side!!!
HE PRAYED for this man in PRIVATE!!!
And HE did it, QUIETLY!!!
Mark 7:33-35 (AMP)
33 Jesus, taking him aside by himself, away from the crowd, put
His fingers into the man’s ears, and after spitting, He touched the man’s
tongue [with the saliva];
34 and looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to the
man, “Ephphatha,” which [in Aramaic] means, “Be opened and released!”
35 And his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he began
speaking plainly.
When I read that Jesus took
this man aside privately, all I could think was how much Jesus must have loved
this man and how much HE was concerned for this man’s feelings!!! Jesus showed respect for this man’s
feelings!!! JESUS TRULY CARED ABOUT HOW
THIS MAN FELT!!!
So many ministers call out things in front of everyone, but Jesus truly cared
about how this man felt!!! Jesus cared
that this man might feel embarrassed!!!
We should do as Jesus did here, and pray for folks privately. Jesus didn’t call 15 other ministers to come up
and help HIM pray for this man. Jesus
prayed for this man by HIMSELF!!!
Mark 7:33 (AMP) Jesus,

I can just hear
someone saying, but HE’s JESUS!!!
Yes, you are right, but Jesus told us that we would do the same works that HE
did and greater works also!!!
John 14:12 (NKJV) Most
assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do
also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My
Father.
If we have THE HOLY GHOST, then we have ALL we need!!! And we can pray for others without a lot of
other folks helping us!!!
We should respect others and care about how they feel. We should NOT embarrass them in front of
everyone by calling out what they need or praying for them loudly, so that
everyone can hear what we are praying.
Let’s be kind to others!!! Let’s be wise
and NOT embarrass folks!!!
Jesus was kind and even though everyone seemed to know what was wrong
with this man, Jesus took the man to one side, away from everyone, and prayed
for him privately!!!

You know, this miracle was recorded for a very specific reason!!!
I truly believe that this incident was recorded, so that we can see that we do
NOT have to make a grand show of praying for folks!!!
It is very clear that JESUS respected
this man’s feelings and HE did NOT make a grand show of praying for this man!!!
You’ve got to LOVE JESUS!!! HE TRULY
LOVES YOU and HE truly cares how you feel!!!
