Have You Sought The Lord?

In every situation, we need to seek the Lord!!!  We need to find out what God’s Will is for that situation!!!

And yes, God already knows what has happened in our lives, but we honor HIM when we go to HIM!   We honor HIM when we take every situation to HIM!!! 

When you say to God, “Here is what is going on.  I don’t know what to do and I need your help,” you are NOT only acknowledging HIM, but honoring HIM!!

Don’t you know that when we honor GOD, He will move on our behalf!!!

In 1 Sam. 30:1-6, we read how David and his men returned from war to find their homes at Ziklag burned and their wives and children taken captive by the Amalekites.

In the verses that follow, we find that David sought the Lord and the Lord answered him.

1 Sam. 30:7-8 (NKJV) ⁷ Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. ⁸ So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”

And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

David did as the Lord told him.  He and his men pursued the Amalekites and killed all of them except 400 young men that escaped on camels.  Not only did David and his men take back their families and their possessions; they also took ALL the spoil that the Amalekites had stolen from others.

1 Sam. 30:19  And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.

God does know how to handle every situation that arises and if we seek HIM, we will also know how to handle each situation in our lives!!!    

We have to know what God’s WILL is for each individual situation in our lives. 

God does NOT always allow us to fight our own battles.  Sometimes, He will say, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay!!!”

Sometimes, He will tell us to do something strange like He did when He told the children of Israel to walk around the city of Jericho for 7 days and then shout!   

Sometimes, the Lord will say, Stay calm and keep quite.  He will tell us to hold our peace in the midst of the storm!!! 

Then there are those times, when He says fight!!

Have you taken the situation that you are facing to the Lord?  Have you sought HIM for HIS WILL?
