Many times the Lord has spoken to me and told me:  Let NOT your heart be troubled!!! 



John 14:1 (KJV) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

God brought these words to me as I sat here thinking tonight!!!  



“I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.”




So, I looked them up!!! 

Deuteronomy 31:6-8 (NKJV)

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

⁷ Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.

⁸ And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

You know, I can’t help but think when I read this passage that this is good advice for ALL of us when we go out into the world.  Don’t get me wrong!  I understand that God is talking to Joshua and the children of Israel!!!




But verse 6 really encourages me!!!  “BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE, DO NOT FEAR THEM!!!”

When God gives us a new job and a new workplace, or even a new place to live in a new area, it can be scary!!!  But when God send us to new place, it is like it says in verse 7!!!  He is giving us the land!!!  And we are to go in and to conquer it!!!!




And to do that we must listen carefully to GOD and to ALL HIS INSTRUCTIONS!!!  It doesn’t mean that we are to go in preaching to everyone!!! 




You know, God can use us without us ever even telling anyone that we are saved!!!!  He can use us as a witness to others when we live and act and walk right!!! 




We have to know that OUR GOD goes before us when HE sends us out!!!  And that HE will be with us!!



Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV) And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Here is this same passage in the New Century Version!!!



Deuteronomy 31:6-8 (NCV)

⁶ Be strong and brave. Don't be afraid of them and don't be frightened, because the Lord your God will go with you. He will not leave you or forget you."

⁷ Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in front of the people, "Be strong and brave, because you will lead these people into the land the Lord promised to give their ancestors, and help them take it as their own.

Psalm 1:1-3

God gave me this passage one morning a while back, and just reading it blessed me. 




I truly believe that when God opens up His Word to you, THE WORD just speaks to you!!!




And…  This passage speaks to me!!!



Psalm 1:1-3 (KJV)

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

² But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The first part of verse one is very simple!!!  “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.”


Don’t be asking unsaved folks for advice and if they give it (when it isn’t asked for) then you ask the Lord before you take heed to it!!!

 

And quite frankly, before we listen to anyone (and yes, I mean even well-meaning Sister Sue), we should always pray and ask God about what they have told us!!! 



You just can’t listen to what everyone says!!!



Here’s the way the Amplified explains the first part of verse one.


Psalm 1:1 (AMP)  Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes],

The New Century Version makes verse 1 plain!!!


Psalm 1:1 (NCV) Happy are those who don't listen to the wicked, who don't go where sinners go, who don't do what evil people do.




In verse 2, we find that we should delight in the Lord and in HIS teachings!!!  We should delight in and study THE WORD OF GOD!!! 

Psalm 1:2 (NKV) They love the Lord's teachings, and they think about those teachings day and night.



As I read this passage in other versions, I could NOT find one that said the same as verse 3 does in the King James., but the New Century Version came somewhat close!!!!



Psalm 1:3 (NCV) They are like a tree replanted by streams of water, which bears fruit at just the right time and whose leaves don’t fade. Whatever they do succeeds.





Let’s see if I can show you what I see in verses 1-3 of the King James. 



Psalm 1:1-2 (KJV)

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

² But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

The man or woman of God is blessed (and uses godly wisdom) because he does NOT take advice from those who do NOT serve THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.  He does NOT stand around listening or gossiping with sinners, nor does he cause problems for others whether they serve God or NOT!!!  He does NOT judge others nor take part in ridiculing others.  He shows God’s LOVE and Mercy!!!



God’s child delights so in God’s WORD that it is in his mouth night and day.  He studies God’s Word for himself (or herself) and does NOT wait on the preacher to tell him (or her) about it in church!!!




Psalm 1:3 (KJV)  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

God’s child will grow like a tree standing tall and straight next to the river.  Like that tree that draws nourishment from the river, God’s child draws nourishment from God’s Word and remains planted firmly and stands unshakeable in the Word of God.  The winds shall blow and the storms may come, but he or she will NOT be moved!!!  God’s child remains anchored in Him and growing in HIM, until God says it is time to move.

And when God says that it is time, His child blossoms and brings forth fruit, and they do well in whatever God has sent them forth to accomplish!!!

But it ONLY happens in God’s Season; in God Time!!!



When you wait on GOD and follow HIS instructions, WHATEVER YOU DO SHALL PROSPER.

I’M ALIVE!!!

Sometimes, when I am feeling sorry for myself, I have to remind myself of how blessed I am!!!

I AM ALIVE!!!  THANK YOU, GOD!!!  I AM ALIVE!!!!

God is so good to me!!! 





There is NO pain that He can’t heal!!!  There is NO suffering that can withstand HIS LOVE!!!!  He brings PEACE and COMFORT!!! 




He heals the sick and the wounded and the brokenhearted!!! 




And one day, when we get to heaven, ALL OUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED!!!  And we will understand ALL THINGS!!!

There's Nothing Else I Need!!!

When you truly get to know Jesus; when you truly “find” HIM, you will find that there is NOTHING ELSE YOU NEED!!!




God says that HE SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS!!!! A lot of folks look at this scripture and they think this scripture ONLY applies to finances, but that is NOT so.   God’s promise here isn’t ONLY for finances!!!  He say, “ALL your need!!!”  That means ALL!!!

 
Philippians 4:19 (KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.




And if this isn’t clear enough, God also says in HIS Word, that HE WILL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF HIS HEART!!!


Psalm 37:4 (NKJV) Delight yourself also in the Lord,

And if I listen closely to HIM and follow HIS directions, HE WILL KEEP ME!!!  HE will lead and guide me in ALL that I do!!!

 

2 Corinthians 13:11 (KJV) Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

How much are we supposed to LOVE God???

We are supposed to LOVE God so much that nothing distracts us from him!!!  We are supposed to LOVE HIM above ALL others and above anything else!!!



Mark 12:29-34 (CEV)

²⁹ Jesus answered, “The most important one says: ‘People of Israel, you have only one Lord and God.

³⁰ You must love him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.’

³¹ The second most important commandment says: ‘Love others as much as you love yourself.’ No other commandment is more important than these.” 




If we could be as wise as this man who spoke with Jesus about what HE taught!!!! 

³² The man replied, “Teacher, you are certainly right to say there is only one God.

³³ It is also true that we must love God with all our heart, mind, and strength, and that we must love others as much as we love ourselves. These commandments are more important than all the sacrifices and offerings that we could possibly make.”

³⁴ When Jesus saw that the man had given a sensible answer, he told him, “You are not far from God’s kingdom.” After this, no one dared ask Jesus any more questions.

You hate your brother and yet you say that you love God!!!



How can this be??? 


1 John 4:20-21 (NKJV)

²⁰ If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

²¹ And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

This has been on my mind ever since I got up!!!  You see, I was still a bit upset at having witnessed someone talking so negatively about another human being and in this case a very dear friend of mine!!!




And as I thought of this last night and even again today, the Lord reminded me, once again, that I was going to have to forgive that person and pray for them!!! 



Matthew 5:43-48 (NCV)

⁴³ "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemies.'

⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.

They say that ignorance is bliss!!!  But I truly think that for someone to despise another person so much, it cannot just be ignorance, but bitterness and anger!!!  For a person to be so bitter and angry would have to make them miserable!!!  Without love you cannot have peace!!!   



Hebrews 12:14-15 (CEB)

¹⁴ Pursue the goal of peace along with everyone—and holiness as well, because no one will see the Lord without it.

¹⁵ Make sure that no one misses out on God’s grace. Make sure that no root of bitterness grows up that might cause trouble and pollute many people.




God says to get rid of bitterness, and forgive others!!!



Ephesians 4:31-32 (NKJV)

³¹ Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.




God says that if you do not love, then you do NOT know HIM!!!

God Loves Each and Every One of Us!!!

***Most of this post has been posted before, but I have to speak out about some things!!!  And this is one of them!!!



What do you say to someone who thinks they are so much better than other people?  Someone who makes it clear that they despise another because that person has sinned!!!


God’s Word says that ALL HAVE SINNED and fallen short of the glory of God!!!



Romans 3:23-24 (CEV)

²³ All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

²⁴ But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins.

Sometimes, I am so flabbergasted!!!  And I am just stunned to see the way in which some folks make their feelings of contempt and hatred of others known.

If you think that you are so much better than everyone else, you will some day be told different!!!  I would hate to walk in your shoes because God has a giant stick pin just waiting to burst your balloon!!!



So, if you say that you have never made a mistake or you think you are better than anyone else, then you need to read THE WORD!!! 

Romans 3:10 (NCV) As the Scriptures say:
    "There is no one who always does what is right, not even one.

 

God loved ALL OF US so much that HE gave us HIS ONE AND ONLY SON as the eternal sacrifice for our sins!!!



John 3:16-18 (NKJV)

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

¹⁷ For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

¹⁸ “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.



I wonder how many people truly understand that God knew exactly how bad this old world was going to get and still HE gave us HIS PRECIOUS SON!!!



And don’t you know that Jesus also knew that HIS GIFT to man was NOT going to be appreciated, but instead it would be reviled!!!

John 3:19-21 (NKJV)

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

²⁰ For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

²¹ But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

But even knowing how awful we were and the lives that we would choose to live, God still chose to send HIS ONLY SON to earth to save you and me because that is how much HE LOVES US!!!

John 10:10 (AMP) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

God loves even the person that we think is the worst sinner or the vilest person!!!  HE loves that person so much, that He would have sent HIS SON to die for their sins, even if he or she was the last person on the face of the earth!!! 


1 John 4:8 (CEB) The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is love.

And yet some folks still think that they are better than others, because they haven’t done ALL that another person has done!!!  I haven’t committed the sins that he or she has committed, they think!!!  And sometimes people even go so far as to despise another person because of their sins!!! 


Isaiah 64:6 (NCV) All of us are dirty with sin.
       All the right things we have done are like filthy pieces of cloth.
    All of us are like dead leaves,
       and our sins, like the wind, have carried us away.

God looks at ALL of us with love in HIS EYES!!!  To HIM, we are ALL the same!!!  HE LOVES US ALL!!!  Even those who choose NOT to accept HIS Gift and choose NOT TO REPENT!!!


Romans 3:3-4 (NKJV)

³ For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect?

⁴ Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written:

“That You may be justified in Your words,
And may overcome when You are judged.”

We are ONLY accepted by God and made right through the BLOOD of Christ!!!  There is nothing more that we can do to become right in God’s sight!!!


Romans 3:22 (NCV) God makes people right with himself through their faith in Jesus Christ. This is true for all who believe in Christ, because all people are the same.



Romans 3:23-26 (CEV)

²³ All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

²⁴ But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins.

^25-26 God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered his life’s blood, so that by faith in him we could come to God. And God did this to show that in the past he was right to be patient and forgive sinners. This also shows that God is right when he accepts people who have faith in Jesus.

Sowing Seeds of Compassion

Do you ever look around and wonder what others are going through??  Why they aren’t smiling today??  Or why they had to leave work early??

Do you ever just stop and just take a moment to pray for them?  To say, Father, I don’t know what that person is going through, but please help them.  Please make a way for them. 




Or are you, like most of us, too busy thinking about what you are going through???   I know that at times, our lives seem to be overwhelming!!!




But we have the answer!!   We have Jesus!!!  We know the God who made the universe, the sun, the moon and the stars.  We know the God that created the world.  And surely He can fix ALL our problems. 

It is really easy to focus on our own lives and NOT see what is going on around us. 




It is just too easy NOT to notice what someone else is going through.  




But if we took the time, wouldn’t it be just as easy to say a kind word or even smile at someone, when that may be ALL that person needs!!!  

Have you ever been feeling down and seen someone smile and thought that their smile looked like a ray of light in this ole dark world or that maybe it just seemed to be a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day? 




Maybe their smile seemed to bring just a glimmer of hope.  




That is how we are supposed to be!!   We are supposed to be the light of the world!!!  The salt of the earth!!!

Matthew 5:13-16 (CEV)

¹³ You are like salt for everyone on earth. But if salt no longer tastes like salt, how can it make food salty? All it is good for is to be thrown out and walked on.

¹⁴ You are like light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden,

¹⁵ and no one would light a lamp and put it under a clay pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house.

¹⁶ Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

You know, as I was writing this, I was thinking about how we don’t always treat each other as we want to be treated!!!  Sometimes, we are grouchy and rude, mean and hateful.




As God’s children, we are supposed to treat others as we want to be treated and show everyone love!!! 

Luke 6:27-33, 37-38 (CEV)

²⁷ This is what I say to all who will listen to me:

Love your enemies, and be good to everyone who hates you.

²⁸ Ask God to bless anyone who curses you, and pray for everyone who is cruel to you.

²⁹ If someone slaps you on one cheek, don’t stop that person from slapping you on the other cheek. If someone wants to take your coat, don’t try to keep back your shirt.

³⁰ Give to everyone who asks and don’t ask people to return what they have taken from you.

³¹ Treat others just as you want to be treated.

³² If you love only someone who loves you, will God praise you for that? Even sinners love people who love them.

³³ If you are kind only to someone who is kind to you, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners are kind to people who are kind to them.

³⁷ Jesus said:

Don’t judge others, and God won’t judge you. Don’t be hard on others, and God won’t be hard on you. Forgive others, and God will forgive you.

³⁸ If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.

 


Yes, even that grouchy checker at Wal-Mart!!!   Yes, the one that never smiles and is always grumbling!!!  You have to forgive people for being like that!!!  Yes, I said FORGIVE THEM!!!  And then we need to pray for them!!!




You see, we really have no idea what is going on in other people’s lives!!!   We have no idea what they are going through or what has happened to them!!!

It is really easy to see that grouchy person and think, why are they so mean and hateful?  Did you ever stop to think that maybe that person feels like everything in his or her life is spiraling out of control??? 




Have you ever stopped to think that maybe that person is holding on tightly to try to maintain what little control, he or she has in life!!!  Maybe they feel helpless or guilty because they can’t control the other parts of their life!!! 




You know, every person acts different under stress or when they are nervous or upset!!!




It is really easy to let that chatterbox get on your nerves!!!!   Did you ever think that she is talking to take her mind off her problems?  Maybe that is her way of making it through the day!!!  Maybe she is trying really hard to be cheerful, so that she won’t cry!!!

Is the gentleman in the next car going to work as we suppose???  Or could he be coming from the hospital where he spent ALL night with his sick wife, sitting at her side because he loves her so much that he can’t bear to leave her. 

Could it be that the lady in the grocery store did NOT say excuse me, because she is trying so very hard NOT to cry?  Or because she is so mad that she wants to scream!!!  The man she’s been married to for 25 years, the one she worked to support while he attended college, has decided that he wants a divorce!!!  And she feels abandoned, helpless and all alone!!!    




Is that young fellow driving and weaving like he’s drunk because he has worked ALL night and he didn’t get any sleep the day before he had to stay up and tend to his sick baby???  Sick babies can’t go to daycare, you know.




What about that young mother at church???  Does she just need a smile??  Or someone to hold her baby for just a moment while she ties her 3 year old’s shoe?  Maybe she needs someone to fix her car because it won’t run and she doesn’t know how she is going to pay to have it repaired and buy food to feed her babies. 



Matthew 25:34-40 (CEV)

³⁴ Then the king will say to those on his right, “My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created.

³⁵ When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me,

³⁶ and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me.”

³⁷ Then the ones who pleased the Lord will ask, “When did we give you something to eat or drink?

³⁸ When did we welcome you as a stranger or give you clothes to wear

³⁹ or visit you while you were sick or in jail?”

⁴⁰ The king will answer, “Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me.”

They Don't Understand!!!

You know, the first time I heard this song, it made me cry!!!  And I realized how true every word of this song is!!! 




We have no idea what others are going through!!! 




Most of the time, we are too busy to even check on our neighbors!!!

BLESSED!!!!

God loves us so much that He wants us to live BLESSED!!!  He doesn’t want us to lack for any good thing.



Psalm 34:10 (NKJV) …those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

God’s children are blessed!!!


Deuteronomy 28:6 (NKJV) “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

Could a person be any more blessed than that??? 



If you are a child of God, then you are blessed when you go in and you are blessed when you come out!!!  It doesn’t get any better than that!!!



We need to tell ourselves this every day!!!  I AM BLESSED WHEN I GO IN AND I AM BLESSED WHEN I GO OUT!!!! 



Not ONLY does God tell us that HE will make our crooked places straight, but He tells us that He will perfect that which concerns us.

Isaiah 45:2 (NKJV) ‘I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron.

Psalm 138:8 (NKJV) The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

I like how Jimmy Swaggart explains this verse.  He says that God walk with His people in the midst of trouble!!!



So, NOT only is God going to be there with us in the midst of the storm, but HE tells us that every thing we do will prosper!!!



Psalm 1:3 (CEB) They are like a tree replanted by streams of water, which bears fruit at just the right time and whose leaves don’t fade. Whatever they do succeeds.

Do you see this???  At just the right time, we will do what God is giving us to do and we will be successful!!!  WE WILL DO THAT WHICH HE HAS CALLED US TO DO!!!  And KNOW ONE WILL BE ABLE TO STOP US!!!



And everything we have and do will be blessed!!! 



God says that HE WILL DEFEAT OUR ENEMIES!!!



HE will NOT ONLY bless everything that is ours, HE will bless us in ALL that we do, and He will BLESS us in the place that HE gives us!!!
