THE ONE TRUE GOD!!!

 
I heard this song and I was struck by the words!!!

I know that some folks don’t believe in GOD, and still others do believe, but they choose NOT to serve HIM!!!

I may NOT totally understand why they believe as they do or why they make the decisions that they make, but GOD has given us FREE WILL!!! 



And FREE WILL means that everyone has the right to choose how they want to live their lives.



I do understand FREE WILL!!!  

And so, I say this. 




As for me and my house, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!!!  Joshua 21:15




That is the decision that I have made!!!



I will raise my children to LOVE GOD!!!  I will instruct them in HIS WAYS!!!  I will teach them to serve the ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD!!!  Eph. 6:4




My GOD is the creator of the Universe!!!  HE formed me and made me!!!  HE knew me before I was a twinkle in my pappa’s eye or a thought in my momma’s mind!!!  Jeremiah 1:5




And I will serve HIM till I die!!!




What I don’t understand and refuse to even try to make sense of, is how someone can make an image or a statue with his own hands, and worship it!!!  Or better yet, buy one, and then worship it!!!



I’m sorry folks, but that just doesn’t make sense to me!!!



My GOD breathes life into all living things!!!  HE spoke and the earth was created!!!  Gen. 1:1  HE took a rib out of Adam and from that rib HE made Eve!!!  Gen. 5:21-22



And you are going to tell me that you made or molded an image, and you are going to worship it?



You bought that wooden, stone or metal thing at the store, and you are going to worship it?



ARE YOU NUTS????




That may NOT sound nice, but let’s get real!!! 



There is nothing made by human hands that can save a man or give him eternal life!!!



ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! 


Surely you know and realize that that thing-that image-you made has no life in it!!!  Surely, you don’t really think that you can buy something at a store and worship it!!!



Well, now I know that I am wrong, because you can choose to worship any thing that you want to worship!!! 



That is FREE WILL!!!   



But that JUST ISN’T SMART!!!! 


Of course, you can choose to go to HELL, if you want!!! 



But that isn’t too smart either!!!


Why would anyone want to worship a dead thing?  Something cold and lifeless.  An image, or even a picture!!! 



Did that thing that you are choosing to worship die for you???



Does it have the power to take away your sins???




JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS TO PAY FOR OUR SINS!!!  WITH HIS ONE TIME SACRIFICE HE PAID IT ALL!!! 



Matthew 27:50-54 (KJV)
⁵⁰ Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
⁵¹ And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
⁵² And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
⁵³ And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

JESUS WENT TO THE GRAVE!!! 




Mark 15:42-46

⁴² Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, ⁴³ Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

⁴⁴ Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time. ⁴⁵ So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

⁴⁶ Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.



AND 3 DAYS LATER, HE CAME OUT OF THAT GRAVE!!!!  AND HE WALKED ON THIS EARTH!!! 




Matthew 27: 62-66 (KJV)
⁶² Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
⁶³ Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

⁶⁵ Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

MY GOD AROSE FROM THE DEAD!!! 

Matthew 28:1-8 (KJV)

28 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

⁴ And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

⁵ And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

⁶ He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

⁷ And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

⁸ And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

MY GOD LEFT HIS GRAVE CLOTHES IN A BORROWED TOMB because HE DIDN’T NEED THEM ANY MORE!!! 



John 20:6-18

⁶ Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

⁷ And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

⁸ Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

⁹ For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

¹⁰ Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

¹¹ But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,

¹² And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

¹³ And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

¹⁴ And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

¹⁵ Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

¹⁶ Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

¹⁷ Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

¹⁸ Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

⁹ And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

¹⁰ Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

¹¹ Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

¹² And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

¹³ Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

¹⁴ And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

¹⁵ So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

¹⁶ Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

¹⁷ And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

¹⁹ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I DON’T SERVE A DEAD GOD!!!



John 20:26-31

²⁶ And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” ²⁷ Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

²⁹ Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

³⁰ And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; ³¹ but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

I SERVE A RISEN SAVIOR!!! 



John 21:1-14 (NKJV)

21 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: ² Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

³ Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

⁴ But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. ⁵ Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?”They answered Him, “No.”

⁶ And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
⁷ Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

⁸ But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish.

⁹ Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. ¹⁰ Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”
¹¹ Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

¹² Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord. ¹³ Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.

¹⁴ This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.

HE IS… LORD OF ALL THE EARTH!!!  MAKER OF EVERY THING!!!  HIS NAME IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!!!



HE IS THE ONLY ONE who can help you out of a jam!!!  ONLY HE CAN GIVE YOU PEACE OF MIND!!!  ONLY HE CAN HEAL YOU when you are sick!!!  ONLY HE CAN DELIVER YOU from the enemy!!!  ONLY HE CAN GIVE YOU JOY!!!!
