What is Confusion???

Dictionary.com says that “confusion” is:

 

— n 1. the act of confusing or the state of being confused 2. disorder; jumble; upheaval; tumult; chaos 3. bewilderment; perplexity 4. lack of clarity; lack of clearness or distinctness 5. embarrassment; abashment



It also says that “confusion”  originally meant "overthrow, ruin,”  and that it comes from the Latin word confusionem, a noun of action from confundere "to pour together," also "to confuse" (see confound).



Now, that last part-where it says, see confound-made me smile because I know that in HIS WORD, God uses the word, confound!!!



1 Corinthians 1:23-27 (KJV)

²³ But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

²⁴ But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

²⁵ Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

²⁶ For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

²⁷ But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;



God’s Ways are NOT our ways!!!  And His Thoughts are NOT our thoughts!!! 

Isaiah 55:8 (NKJV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.

The things that God plans for us will always line up with HIS WORD and they will NOT cause confusion or bring about dilemma in our lives!!!



Jeremiah 29:11 (CEB) I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.

When something happens that brings upheaval, chaos and fear, we have to know that it is coming from the devil!!!



One of the most importance things to remember is that NO MATTER how good something looks or seems, IF IT CAUSES CONFUSION IN YOUR LIFE, IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FROM GOD!!!


If we look at the synonyms that Dictionary.com shows we see what the devil’s intent is in bringing “confusion” to us!!!

Synonyms:  distraction, turmoil, mess, disarray, shame



We must recognize and realize that the devil uses confusion to cause turmoil, mess, disarray, distraction, and shame!!!

If the devil can confuse us then he will cause us to do things that are contrary to the WILL OF GOD!!!  And that is his purpose!!! 



God always reminds me that I should have peace.  Part of having PEACE is deciding that you will have it!!!  We have to decide that we will NOT allow our hearts to be troubled!!!

 

John 14:27 (NKJV) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.



We have to decide NOT TO BE WORRIED!!! 


John 14:27 (CEV) I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn’t like the peace that this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid.



The devil wants us to be upset, scared and troubled in our minds.  He wants to cause turmoil and create mess in our lives.  He wants to cause disarray.  He wants to bring distraction and he wants us to be ashamed!!!



But God tells us that we can have peace!!! 

Philippians 4:7 (CEB) Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.

The devil would like to lead ALL of us astray and then bring fear into our lives!!!  But God tells us that we are NOT supposed to fear!!!  We can have PEACE!!!


2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

That is why God always reminds me that when something happens that is causing confusion, the devil is behind it!!!!



We must always remember that GOD DOES NOT BRING CONFUSION INTO OUR LIVES!!!  HE BRINGS CLARITY!!!! 



John 10:10 (CEB) The thief enters only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came so that they could have life—indeed, so that they could live life to the fullest.

One of God’s Promises to us is that HE will make our crooked place straight!!!  That means when problems arise as mountains in our lives, GOD climbs up on HIS SPIRITUAL BULLDOZER and BULLDOZES THEM DOWN!!!

Isaiah 45:2 (AMP) I will go before you and level the mountains [to make the crooked places straight]; I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron.



With God going before us and making our ways smooth, we can defeat the devil in ALL the areas of our lives!!!  We can have PEACE and success!!! 



And when we decide to have PEACE, then confusion has to leave!!!
