I Run to the Mountain and the Mountain Stands by Me!!!!

For about 2 weeks now, all week long, day after day, this song has just stayed with me!!!  These words keep running through my head!!!

Especially this part, I RUN TO THE MOUNTAIN AND THE MOUNTAIN STANDS BY ME!!!   

I just keep finding myself singing it!!!  It is truly a beautiful song and it is really true!!!  So, I just had to write about it one more time!!!   

I can to tell you from personal experience, that the MOUNTAIN - THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY - HAS ALWAYS STOOD BY ME!!!

He has never left me nor forsaken me!!!  HE has always been there for me!!!  No matter what was going on, GOD HAS ALWAYS STOOD BY ME!!!



When it seemed at times like the earth ALL around me was indeed sinking sand, I KNEW WHO TO HOLD ON TO AND WHO TO DEPEND ON!!!  ON CHRIST THAT SOLID ROCK I STAND!!!

When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I go to the ROCK!!!  I know that I can always count on HIM!!!

Psalm 18:1-2 (CEV)

 

¹ I love you, LORD God, and you make me strong.

² You are my mighty rock, my fortress, my protector, the rock where I am safe, my shield, my powerful weapon, and my place of shelter.

   

HE’S THE ROCK OF MY SALVATION.  HE’S THE STONE THAT THE BUILDERS REJECTED.

I KNOW THAT GOD IS ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF ME!!!  NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS!!!  I KNOW HE IS ABLE!!!

This should be the wish of every saint of God-That they truly see and know God IN ALL HIS GLORY!!!  That they truly see HIS POWER AND HIS LOVE!!!

I really like what verse 39 says in both the King James and New King James.


Mark 4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.   

You know, we too have the power to speak to the storm and it must obey us, just as it obeyed Jesus!!!

John 14:12 (CEB) I assure you that whoever believes in me will do the works that I do. They will do even greater works than these because I am going to the Father.

NOT ONLY can we command the winds to stop blowing and rebuke the storm like Jesus did in the boat, we can speak PEACE to ALL the situations in our life!!!  And in other’s lives!!! 

Sometimes when I go to the store, I will hear folks fussing and I will speak, “Peace over that situation” and they will lower their voices and begin to speak calmly to each other.

Even recently when I heard a man cussing near me, I commanded that cussing spirit to shut its mouth and he walked away.  When I saw him again, he was much calmer!!!

We can even speak PEACE to our surroundings!!! 

Sometimes at night when ALL the dogs are barking and ALL the cats are howling, I begin to speak, “PEACE!!!”  And before you know it, the whole neighborhood gets quiet!!!

We speak PEACE in the POWER and the AUTHORITY that is given us by the HOLY GHOST/HOLY SPIRIT and when we speak, we speak in JESUS’ NAME!!!

John 14:26-27 (KJV)

²⁶But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

²⁷Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

When Jesus left this earth to go back to the Father, HE did NOT leave us powerless!!! 


Before HE left, HE commanded HIS disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit to come, so that they would have power.  He told them that after receiving this POWER, they were to go into ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL!!!

I KNOW THE ONE WHO SPEAKS TO THE STORM AND CALMS THE SEA!!!

Am I always right???   Well, of course NOT!!! 



Are you???   I can answer that for you!!!  Well, of course NOT!!!

Do I think that I know everything? 

No, but I would like to think that I know most things!!!

And even though I don’t know it ALL, I know THE ONE who does!!!  I know THE ONE who has ALL the answers!!!

I know THE ONE who knows the question before I ask it!!!

I know THE ONE that knows how to solve the problem before I even know there is a problem!!!

I know THE ONE that spoke to the storm and calmed the sea!!!

What the devil meant for evil…

I was just thinking of how wonderful God is to me and how blessed I am!!!

You see, the ringtone, Beautiful by Mercy Me, is on my phone now because God gave it to me!!!  It is actually a replacement tone for another ringtone that I had on my phone for several years!!!

 

 

I would NOT even consider nor presume to say that no one else could use it!!  It doesn’t belong to me!!!  But it is special to me!!!  It is special because I know that God gave it me!!!  And it encourages me, every time I hear it!!! 

 

 

I have had many songs on my phone over the years!!!  I even actually paid for a special ringtone at one point.  So, every time I got a new phone I had to reload it, so that I could use it!!! 

 

 

 

And one day while I was loading a bunch of songs onto a friend’s phone, I inadvertently loaded my special ringtone onto the phone along with the other songs.  I didn’t even realize it until a couple of days later when this person’s phone started ringing!!!  I looked around to see who was calling me, but my phone wasn’t ringing!!

 

 

And at first, I thought, if my phone isn’t ringing then how come I am hearing my ringtone playing!!!  Then it hit me like a tons of bricks!!!  This person’s phone was ringing because they had decided to use my ringtone!!! 





Yes!!!  I am saying that that particular ringtone was mine!!!  After ALL I had bought and paid for it!!!  I had been using it for years!!!!  And it was my fault that this person had it!!!  I had accidentally downloaded it onto their phone!!! 




When I remarked later that I had thought my phone was ringing, I was told that this person was using it for one of their relatives!!!  I was astonished and appalled that this person would knowingly use my ringtone!!!  In fact, I was NOT only astonished, I was horrified!!!!     

 

 

To be truthful, I was so shocked by the nonchalant way in which this person (this so called friend of mine) replied, that I was speechless!!!   THANK YOU, JESUS!!!

 

 

Quite frankly!!!  Although, I didn’t say anything to them, I WAS VERY UPSET!!!  I ACTUALLY FELT BETRAYED!!!  AND I MADE SURE THAT GOD KNEW HOW UPSET I WAS!!!!!    

 

 

I CRIED AND SCREAMED!!!!  AND I CRIED SOME MORE AND TOLD GOD TO MAKE THIS PERSON STOP USING MY RINGTONE!!!  BUT HE DIDN’T!!!

 

 

I even told a dear friend of mine about it and she told me that she understood how I felt, but that it sounded like I just needed to find another ringtone!!! 

 

 

Now, if you think that my friend telling me that I was going to have to get another ringtone, didn’t make steam come out my ears, you are so very wrong!!! 

 

 

I am sure that every one of you has seen in the cartoons where a person gets so mad that steam blows out of both of their ears!!  You know, the way that steam blows out of a steam whistle!!!

 

WELL, THAT IS HOW I FELT!!!  I can’t even tell you how mad I was or how much I cried over this!! 

 

 

AFTER ALL, I HAD A RIGHT TO BE UPSET!!! THAT RINGTONE WAS MINE!!!  IT WAS MINE!!!!  NO ONE ELSE HAD A RIGHT TO USE IT!!!  I HAD BOUGHT IT!!!

 

 

But truthfully folks, even if this person had bought that ringtone, instead of just using it (after I gave it to them), I would still have been mad!!!  Even if they had paid for it, I would still have been mad!!!  Because I felt like it was mine and I felt like this person had no right to use it!!!

 

 

 

My dear friend even tried to tell me that IMITATION WAS THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY!!  But I can tell you that even that did NOT make me any happier!!!

 

 

After ALL, that ringtone was mine!!!  And if this person had had a special ringtone, I would NOT have dared to use it!!!  But that is me!!! 

 

 

And as that same dear friend of mine told me that other day, every one doesn’t do things the way I do things!!! Every one does NOT look at things the same way I look at things!!!  Every one doesn’t think the way I think!!!

 

You know, I am sure that the devil was real pleased to see me throwing a big ole fit over this!!!  I am sure that he wanted me to be upset and act out!!! 

 

But you see, even though I did throw a big ole fit, I took my problem to GOD and I didn’t get in my friend’s face!!!  So, even though I may have acted like a big ole baby over it, I did it mostly in private before the LORD!!!

 

 

I never treated that friend ugly!!!  I was nice and sweet to that person.  I prayed for them and their family!!!  I did everything I was supposed to do!!!  I am NOT even sure that this friend has any idea that I was ever upset!!!  And I know that pleases GOD!!!

 

 

God finally told me that there were a lot of other ringtones out there!!!  And HE reminded me that I had several on my phone that I really liked!!!  And I had NOT had to pay for them because they were songs. And HE told me that I would simply have to choose a different one!!!   

 

 

And God reminded me that HIS WORD said, “What the devil meant for evil (for my harm), God meant for good!!!”  This is what Joseph told his brothers in Genesis 50:20.

I assure you today that God has your back!!!

GOD WILL TAKE WHAT THE DEVIL MEANS TO DESTROY OR HURT YOU AND HE WILL USE IT FOR YOUR GOOD!!! 

When I was adding some new songs/ringtones to my collection, I saw BEAUTIFUL by Mercy Me.  I had never heard it before, so I played it!!

I knew immediately that Beautiful was going to be my new ringtone!!!  As I said in my other post, I fell in LOVE with it when I heard it!!!  This song is so beautiful!!!

So, I set it as MY NEW RINGTONE!!!  And I am amazed at how God uses it to minister to me and encourage me!!!

And do you know that a couple of months later, I was in church, and this preacher was talking about how the choir had been singing that other song.  He went on to say that they wouldn’t be singing it any more because THE LORD had showed his wife that that song did NOT line up with The WORD!!!

Isn’t that amazing!!!  So, again I say, THANK YOU LORD!!!  YOU ARE SO GOOD TO ME!!!  I AM SO BLESSED!!!

And last, but NOT least, I have to tell you about one last scripture-Roman 8:28 which is one of my most favorite scriptures!!!!!!

Take Life One Day at a Time!!!

All my life I have heard that we should take life one day at a time.

There was even a song written about it!!!

But in the last couple of years, I have heard folks say that this isn’t in the BIBLE!!!

But it is!!!  I found it!!!  And I thought immediately, "See there it is!!!"

So, let me share these scriptures with you because in them you also will find that Jesus tells HIS disciples and of course, us to take life one day at a time and HE means it!!!

Matthew 6:25-34 (CEV) 

²⁵I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing?

²⁶Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth more than birds?

²⁷Can worry make you live longer?

²⁸Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don't work hard to make their clothes.

²⁹But I tell you that Solomon with all his wealth wasn't as well clothed as one of them.

³⁰God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do even more for you! Why do you have such little faith?

³¹Don't worry and ask yourselves, "Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?"

³²Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these.

³³But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.

Now, I can just hear someone saying, Where?  Where?  I don’t see it!!!

So, let me break it down for you!!!  Do you see verse 34?  It says, ³⁴Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today.

WORRY ABOUT TODAY, AND NOT TOMORROW!!!

SEE THE BIBLE DOES SAY, TAKE LIFE ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!   

Have you chosen the right foundation for your life???

Who are or what is your life built on??? 

Is it built on money, finances, your job, things??

Is it built on your family, your spouse, your kids, your parents???

Is it built on your position in life, your status, or what others think of you???

If your life is built on anything or anyone, but Jesus, then you will one day regret it. 

If you trust in the Lord and make HIM the foundation, the cornerstone of your life, and you build upon THE SOLID ROCK, then HE will cause your life to flourish!!! 

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:33 (NCV) Seek first God's kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.

 

God doesn’t say that ALL these things should be unimportant to us.  He says that we are to seek Him first!!!  We are to seek HIS KINGDOM FIRST!!!  And then ALL these things shall be added unto us!!!

Luke also records Jesus telling HIS disciples these same things.

²³ Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothes.

²⁴ Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest, they don't have storerooms or barns, but God feeds them. And you are worth much more than birds.

²⁵ You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it.

²⁶ If you cannot do even the little things, then why worry about the big things?

²⁷ Consider how the lilies grow; they don't work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.

²⁸ God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today but tomorrow is thrown into the fire. So how much more will God clothe you? Don't have so little faith!

²⁹ Don't always think about what you will eat or what you will drink, and don't keep worrying.

³⁰ All the people in the world are trying to get these things, and your Father knows you need them.

³¹ But seek God's kingdom, and all your other needs will be met as well.

Who do I lean on when there's no foundation stable?

You know, I was just rereading the words to the song, I Go To The Rock!!!  And one line in particular caught my attention. 




Who do I lean on when there's no foundation stable?

I go to the Rock.
I know He's able.
I go to the Rock.

I go to the Rock of my Salvation.
I go to the Stone that the builders rejected.
I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me.

When the earth all around me is sinking sand
On Christ, that solid rock I stand.

If we were comparing natural foundations for a building, some folks would say that a cement foundation is the best, but if you don’t water cement it cracks and breaks apart.

And almost anyone would tell you NOT to build on sand because it will shift and move, and yes, it will even sink. 

Both of these are types of natural foundations for natural buildings.

So, why is it important to have a good foundation??? 

Your foundation is your stability.  It is the basis or the frame work for everything that you intend to build.  It is the support system that is going to hold up whatever you are building!!!!

JESUS IS OUR FOUNDATION!!!  JESUS, IS THE SOLID ROCK THAT WE BUILD OUR LIVES ON!!! 

1 Corinthians 3:11 (NCV) The foundation that has already been laid is Jesus Christ, and no one can lay down any other foundation.

The Contemporary English Bible states it simply, “…Christ is the only foundation.”  1 Cor. 3:11

 

CHRIST IS THE ONLY FOUNDATION THAT WILL REMAIN SOLID LIKE THE ROCK, UNMOVABLE, AND UNSHAKABLE!!!  YOU CAN BUILD YOUR LIFE ON JESUS AND YOU CAN EXPECT HIM TO REMAIN THE SAME WHETHER THE STORMS COME OR GO!!!    

CHRIST WON’T SHIFT LIKE THE SANDS OR CRACK LIKE CEMENT.  HE WON’T ROT OR BURN UP LIKE WOOD.

CHRIST WILL WITHSTAND THE TEST OF TIME!!!  HE WILL BE THERE IN THE END!!!  

Matthew 7:24-27 (NCV)

²⁴ "Everyone who hears my words and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

²⁵ It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and hit that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock.

²⁶ Everyone who hears my words and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

²⁷ It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and hit that house, and it fell with a big crash." 

WHAT FOUNDATION ARE YOU BUILDING YOUR LIFE ON?? 




WHAT FOUNDATION ARE YOU TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN TO BUILD THEIR LIVES ON???

Where do I go when there’s nobody else to turn to???

The post that I just finished writing was similar to this one, and in it I talked about giving our children to the Lord AT A YOUNG AGE and raising them to know who JESUS is and that they can run to HIM!!! 

We need to teach our children that JESUS IS THE LORD OF OUR LIVES!!!  HE is our strength; HE is our refuge; our safe place; our strong tower!!!

NOT ONLY DO OUR CHILDREN NEED TO KNOW WHO JESUS IS, BUT THEY NEED TO KNOW THAT HE IS THE ANSWER!!! 




Our children need to learn to take ALL their worries, ALL their problems, ALL their situations to JESUS!!! 

Philippians 4:6-9 (NCV)

⁶ Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks.

⁷ And God's peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

⁸ Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.

When we teach our kids that JESUS is LORD, and that THEY DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING, we are teaching them that JESUS IS THEIR PROBLEM SOLVER!!!  

JESUS CAN AND WILL HANDLE EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE AND EVERY SITUATION THAT THEY HAVE, IF THEY TAKE IT TO HIM AND ASK HIM TO TAKE CARE OF IT!!!  

When our children know that JESUS IS THE ANSWER AND THAT HE WILL SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS, then they will NOT have to look for answers in other things like drugs, alcohol, weird hair or clothes, piercing and tattoos, violence or sex.

LET’S GIVE OUR CHILDREN THE ANSWER BEFORE THEY HAVE THE PROBLEMS!!!  BEFORE THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE A LOT OF ISSUES!!! 

When they know JESUS IS THE PROBLEM SOLVER, THEN THEY HAVE AN ANSWER FOR EVERY QUESTION; AN ANSWER FOR EVERY SITUATION; AN ANSWER FOR EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!

BECAUSE EVEN WHEN IT SEEMS THAT NO ONE ELSE CARES, JESUS IS THERE FOR THEM!!!  HE WILL LISTEN TO THEM AND HE WILL HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY.  AND HE WILL HELP THEM FIX WHATEVER IS GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES!!!
