In what some call the Great Commission, Jesus told the disciples to go into ALL the world and preach the gospel.
Mark 16:14-15 (CEV)
14Afterwards, Jesus appeared to his eleven disciples as they were eating. He scolded them because they were too stubborn to believe the ones who had seen him after he had been raised to life.
15Then he told them: Go and preach the good news to everyone in the world.
In Luke and in Acts, Jesus is recorded to have told the disciples to wait until they received the Holy Spirit, and then go unto the world to preach the gospel.
Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Luke 24:46-49 (CEB)
46 He said to them, “This is what is written: the Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
47 and a change of heart and life for the forgiveness of sins must be preached in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 Look, I’m sending to you what my Father promised, but you are to stay in the city until you have been furnished with heavenly power.”
Go into ALL the world preaching, and teaching that the Messiah has come so that they might be forgiven and cleansed of their sins by HIS REDEEMING BLOOD.
Luke 24:47 (NKJV) …repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Jesus doesn’t only want HIS WORD preached to ALL the world, but HE makes it clear that everyone is to be taught THE WORD OF GOD. When you take time out to teach THE WORD, then you are making sure that it is understood in its entirety!!!
Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
And once they have come to know Jesus, baptize them with water and with the SPIRIT!!!
Acts 19:1-6 (KJV)
1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
