Sweet Holy Spirit

This is a song that we often sang at the 1st Holiness church that I ever attended!!!  I always loved it.

I was looking for a song about the Holy Spirit and I remembered this one!!  I hope you enjoy it!!!



There's a sweet sweet spirit in this place
And I know that it's the spirit of the Lord.
There are sweet expressions on each face
And I know that it's the presence of the Lord.

Sweet Holy Spirit
Sweet heavenly dove
Stay right here with us
Filling us with your love.

And for all these blessings
We lift our hearts in praise
Without a doubt we'll know
That we have been revived
When we shall leave this place.

As I read these words again, I thought of how God sent HIS SPIRIT to rest on Jesus in the form of a dove!!!

In obedience to HIS FATHER and so that the scriptures might be fulfilled, Jesus came to John and was baptized by him!!!

Matthew 3:13-17 (KJV)

 ¹³Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 

 ¹⁴But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

 ¹⁵And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

 ¹⁶And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

 ¹⁷And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John 1:29-34 (KJV)

 ²⁹The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold
the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

 ³⁰This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

 ³¹And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

 ³²And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

 ³³And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

 ³⁴And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
