Away In A Manger

Away in a manger,
No crib for His bed,
The little Lord Jesus
Laid down His sweet head;

The stars in the heavens
Looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing,
The poor Baby wakes,
But little Lord Jesus,
No crying He makes.

I love Thee, Lord Jesus;
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side
Till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus;
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray!

Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care,
And fit us for Heaven
To live with Thee there.

I wonder how many of us really know what a manger is. 

Do we really understand that our Lord and Savior spent the first hours of his life lying in a feed trough? 

Here is how Wikipedia defines a manger.

A manger is a trough or box of carved stone or wood construction used to hold food for animals (as in a stable). Mangers are mostly used in livestock raising. They are also used to feed wild animals, e.g., in nature reserves. The word comes from the French manger (meaning "to eat"), from Latin manducare (meaning "to chew").

A manger is also a Christian symbol, associated with nativity scenes where Mary, forced by necessity to stay in a stable instead of an inn, placed the baby Jesus in a manger. (Luke 2:7).

THERE WAS NO ROOM AT THE INN. 



Is that how we treat our precious Savior now??? 

DO WE NOT HAVE ROOM FOR HIM IN OUR LIVES???
