The Lamb of God Recognized

Our Savior came in the flesh to redeem us and set us free from sin!!!


John 1:14-18

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

¹⁵ John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

¹⁶ And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.


¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.



But how did John know for sure that Jesus was the LIGHT of the WORLD; THE MESSIAH; THE PROMISED ONE???

John 1:29-34   

The Lamb of God


²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!


³⁰ This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’


³¹ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”



³² And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.


³³ I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’



³⁴ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

The Messiah coming was foretold in days of old by Isaiah, the prophet of God!!! 

Isaiah 42:1 (AMP) BEHOLD MY Servant, Whom I uphold, My elect in Whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice and right and reveal truth to the nations.

And that prophecy was fulfilled on the day when Jesus was baptized by John!!!  And GOD, HIMSELF spoke from Heaven declaring that indeed Jesus was HIS BELOVED SON!!!

Matthew 3:16-17 (KJV)

 ¹⁶And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

 ¹⁷And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
