Be still and know that I am God!!!!

I am wondering as I type this, DO WE KNOW THAT HE IS GOD???

Or do we just know that there is this entity; this divine being; that those Christians call GOD??

If I asked, “WHO IS GOD?” I wonder what some folks would say.

Would they say, HE is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end?

Revelation 22:13 (NCV) ¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Would they say, HE is the Lord God, my provider?  Philippians 4:19 (CEB)

¹⁹ My God will meet your every need out of His riches in the glory that is found in Christ Jesus.

Would they say, He is the Lord God that heals me?  Ex. 15:26 (NKJV)

…For I am the LORD who heals you.”  Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) …And by His stripes we are healed.

What would their answer be??? 

But more importantly, what would your answer be???

Did you know that He is GOD??  That HE is I AM???

Exodus 3:13-14 (NKJV) ¹³ Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”

¹⁴ And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

Do we really understand what God means when He says, Be still and know that I am GOD???

Do we understand that GOD is promising us that HE will take care of us??? GOD is saying, YOU CAN DEPEND ON ME!!!  I WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU!!! 

Do we understand that HE IS NOT A MAN THAT HE SHOULD LIE? 

Numbers 23:19 (CEB) ¹⁹ God isn’t a man that he would lie, or a human being that he would change his mind. Has he ever spoken and not done it, or promised and not fulfilled it?



Be still and know that I am GOD???  Is that really in the Bible???  

Psalm 46:10 New Century Version (NCV)

 ¹⁰ God says, "Be still and know that I am God.
       I will be praised in all the nations;
       I will be praised throughout the earth."

This is what the CEV says,

Psalm 46:10 (CEV) ¹⁰ Our God says, "Calm down, and learn that I am God!  All nations on earth will honor me."

You see, when we get stressed and we let our problems overwhelm us, I truly believe that even if it is only for one tiny moment, we forget that HE IS GOD!!!  

Because if we didn’t, we wouldn’t be ALL stressed out!!!  We wouldn’t let life get to us!!!  But we do. 


We let our problems cause us to lose our focus on GOD!!!

He is the God that created heaven and earth!  Gen. 1:1

And since He created it, He can fix it!!! 

When I get so busy that my head seems to swim, God will remind me to sit down and get still!!!  He reminds me that HE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS!!!  And that there isn’t anything that HE doesn’t know!!!

When I was in the lumber store, last week, and the salesman told me that I had to attach my new steps to my house, God knew what I would need to do. 

That might sound simple to you, but my house is old and there is no place to attach a set of steps.  My last set of steps was a free standing set of stairs that rotted with age and time.   

THE LORD showed me what I would need to build and how to attach my steps to it.  That’s when HE REMINDED ME THAT HE WAS A CARPENTER!!!  (My God certainly has a sense of humor!!)


Matthew 13:54-55 (NCV) ⁵⁴ He went to his hometown and taught the people in the synagogue, and they were amazed. They said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and this power to do miracles?  ⁵⁵ He is just the son of a carpenter…

When I got a new cell phone and I had to decide whether to keep it or NOT, He knew!!!  When I was panicking because I was on day 29 of my 30 day trial period with that same phone, HE knew.


When I didn’t know what to do, HE KNEW!!!!  And when I did what HE told me to do, it worked out perfectly!!!   

When I bought 2 tool sets, and couldn’t make up my mind which one to keep, He knew!!!  When I loaded the truck to return the phone and the tools, HE knew!!!

He knew that I was going to change my mind again after I got to the store.  He knew to tell me to take both sets with me, so that I could return the one I had intended to keep!!! 

He even sent me some help!!!  The best person to ask about tools-besides GOD-is the man who works with tools each and every day!!!  And God had that man walk right into the store where I could talk to him. 


You see, I needed to know that if a man who works with tools every day, would buy that same tool set for his dad, then it would be a good tool set for me!!! 

I don’t believe in coincidence!!!  And I don’t believe in LUCK!!!

I BELIEVE IN BEING BLESSED AND WALKING IN GOD’S FAVOR!!!

God makes ALL my crooked places straight and HE turns ALL my mountains into mole hills!!!  Is. 45:2

Do you know that God will provide what you need when you need it???  Phil 4:19

On this same trip, I needed to find a post office.  You see, God told me to take my last Christmas card with me to the phone store!!!  And sure enough, as I waited, I had time to finish writing it!!!  John 14:26

So, with ALL my errands completed and my phone returned, I headed to my friend’s house.  I was watching for the Post Office and already had a stamp on each of my Christmas cards.  However, the traffic was so heavy, that I couldn’t get over when I realized that I was passing the Post Office. 

But God already knew that that was going to happen, so a couple of miles on down the road, there was a sign that said Post Office, and I was able to turn down a road and go mail my cards.  Isn’t God good!!!  

How awesome it is to be a treasured member of God’s family!!!  To have the opportunity to spend time with God!!!  To spend time with the ONE WHO CREATED THE UNIVERSE!!!  To have access to HIS DIVINE WISDOM!!!

As I write this, I can hear God saying, I can help you with any situation or circumstance!!!  So, Calm Down!!!! 



Don't you know that I am Still GOD!!!  And I am bigger than any circumstance, bigger than any situation, and bigger than any problem that you have!!!!
