Being Armed with God’s Word

God knows that the minute we become one of HIS KID’S, the enemy is going to start coming against us!!!  That is why HE has told us to put on HIS ARMOR!!! 




Remember, I told you yesterday that THE SECRET TO GOD’S ARMOR is in HIS WORD!!!! 




THE SECRET TO BEING ABLE TO USE GOD’S ARMOR TO FIGHT THE ENEMY IS KNOWING GOD’S WORD!!!! 
 



We must know GOD’S WORD so that we can USE IT AGAINST the enemy!!!  That is how we put on GOD’S ARMOR!!!  We must arm ourselves with GOD’S WORD!!!

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

⁵ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

BEING ARMED WITH THE WORD OF GOD helps us be prepared to fight the enemy when he attacks us!!! 




We know that the devil always comes to attack the minds of God’s people and steal their PEACE!!! 




Many times the devil will bring a spirit of fear against us to try to make us afraid or even worried.  When he does this, he is trying to steal our PEACE!!! 




So, we say to the devil, “I bind that spirit of fear according to GOD’S WORD which says, Whatsoever we bind on this earth shall be bound in Heaven and whatsoever we loose on this earth shall be loosed in Heaven!!!” Matthew 18:18




And we tell him that we refuse to be upset or worried, scared or afraid because we have the PEACE that JESUS left with us!!! 



John 14:27 (NKJV) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.




We say, “SHUT UP, DEVIL!!!  In Phil 4.7, God’s Word says, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”




We can even SPEAK PEACE TO THE STORM that the devil is trying to bring into our lives because Jesus spoke PEACE to the storm!!!  We speak PEACE to every situation and every circumstance in the Name of Jesus!!! 



Mark 4:39 (NKJV) Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.



Mark 4:35-39 (NCV)

³⁵ That evening, Jesus said to his followers, "Let's go across the lake."

³⁶ Leaving the crowd behind, they took him in the boat just as he was. There were also other boats with them.

³⁷ A very strong wind came up on the lake. The waves came over the sides and into the boat so that it was already full of water.

³⁸ Jesus was at the back of the boat, sleeping with his head on a cushion. His followers woke him and said, "Teacher, don't you care that we are drowning!"

³⁹ Jesus stood up and commanded the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind stopped, and it became completely calm.

But I can’t do the things that Jesus did!!!! 



Yes!!!  Yes, you can!!! 




You aren’t going to do anything in your own might or your own strength!!!  You are using GOD’S POWER AND HIS MIGHT-GOD’S ARMOR; GOD’S WORD-to fight the devil!!!




Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV)


¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Do you know that it says in GOD’S WORD, that we will do the same works and even greater works than Jesus did because we believe in HIM???




John 14:12 (NCV) I tell you the truth, whoever believes in me will do the same things that I do. Those who believe will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

As you can see in Mark 4, when the storm came and the disciples were scared, Jesus was concerned for them!!!  He quieted the storm!!!




OUR HEAVENLY FATHER is always concerned about our safety and our well-being!!! 




That is why HE TELLS US TO PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, SO THAT WE CAN STAND AGAINST THE DEVIL!!!



Ephesians 6:10-13 (CJB)

¹⁰ Finally, grow powerful in union with the Lord, in union with his mighty strength!

¹¹ Use all the armor and weaponry that God provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary.

¹² For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.

¹³ So take up every piece of war equipment God provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing.




Now, let’s look at 1 last verse!!! 



Ephesians 6:15 (NKJV) and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace




Do you remember what I said before about how you are supposed fight the devil with THE WORD OF GOD when he comes to steal your PEACE and when he tries to come against your mind??? 




Well, that is how you keep your feet shod and prepared with the gospel of PEACE!!!




You can certainly keep your PEACE, the PEACE that Jesus has given us by standing on God’s Word and knowing these scriptures!!! 




If you study PEACE and LOVE, you will see that Jesus indeed preached PEACE and LOVE to ALL of HIS FOLLOWERS!!! 




Jesus taught that we are to have peace with ALL men!!!



Romans 12:18 (NKJV) If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Hebrews 12:14 (NCV) Try to live in peace with all people, and try to live free from sin. Anyone whose life is not holy will never see the Lord.

But remember, the ONLY way to have PEACE when the enemy comes is to fight him and take it!!! 



Matthew 11:12 (NKJV) And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

Remember, we are NOT fighting flesh and blood, but the deceitful ways and tricks of the enemy!!! 



Ephesians 6:13 (CJB) So take up every piece of war equipment God provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing.
