The Sword of THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD!!!

During this study, I have learned that without a shadow of a doubt, The Sword of The Spirit (which is THE WORD OF GOD) is indeed THE ULTIMATE WEAPON in GOD’S ARMOR!!!

Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

As I began to think about this post, I told God that I really had no idea what I should write!!!  I knew that I could say that WE SHOULD BE ARMED WITH THE WORD OF GOD, but I also knew that I had already told you that a bazillion times!!!

So, I asked God what I should write and what scriptures I should use?
And this is what
HE GAVE ME!!!

Hebrews 4:1-16 (NKJV)

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:
“So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest,’”
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;

and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”

Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

After I read this passage, it hit me!!!  That’s it exactly!!!

GOD WANTS HIS WORD TO BE ALIVE IN US!!!

God wants us to know and trust in HIS WORD!!!  So, that when the enemy comes to cause problems or tries to bring storms into our lives, WE KNOW WHAT HIS WORD SAYS AND WE CAN SPEAK IT IN FAITH!!!

Jeremiah 1:12 (AMP) Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

WE SPEAK IN FAITH KNOWING THAT WHEN WE SAY WHAT GOD SAYS, IT WILL COME TO PASS!!!

Isaiah 55:11 (CEV) That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do.”

WE STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD HAVING FAITH THAT WHAT GOD SAYS WILL COME TO PASS, AND KNOWING THAT BECAUSE WE SPEAK ACCORDING TO HIS WORD, IT WILL BE DONE!!!!

Mark 11:22-24 (AMP)

22 And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly].

23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.

24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

And because we
STUDY AND KNOW WHAT GOD’S WORD says, WE CAN HAVE PEACE in EVERY situation and in EVERY circumstance!!!

2 Timothy 2:15 (AMP) Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

No matter what happens, WE CAN HAVE PEACE!!!  I use the word, “CAN” because WE HAVE A CHOICE!!!

John 14:27 (AMP) Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

WE CAN STUDY GOD’S WORD AND LEARN WHAT IT SAYS, SO THAT WE CAN USE IT AS A WEAPON when the enemy comes!!!  Or we can spend our time doing other things and let the devil beat us up!!!

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

It is OUR CHOICE!!!!  And yes, GOD WOULD PREFER THAT WE STUDY AND LEARN HIS WORD, but we study for our benefit!!!  Studying and learning doesn’t make GOD stronger!!!  But it WILL MAKE US STRONGER!!!

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (AMP)

For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)

When we know that we have ARMED OURSELVES WITH GOD’S WORD, WE HAVE CONFIDENCE IN GOD and we know that HE IS WELL ABLE TO PERFORM HIS WORD!!!

Ephesians 3:16-20 (NKJV)

16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,

17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—

19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us

We don’t have to walk around trying to beat the devil up, WE ONLY NEED TO STAND ON GOD’S WORD IN FAITH, AND BE AT PEACE!!!

Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

John 14:1 (NKJV) “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

No matter what comes our way and no matter what the enemy throws in our path, WE CAN CHOOSE NOT TO WORRY!!!!

Philippians 4:6(AMP) Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

Philippians 4:7 (CEB) Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.

WE CAN ENTER INTO GOD’S COMPLETE REST, IF WE HAVE FAITH IN HIM AND BELIEVE THAT HIS WORD IS TRUE!!!

Hebrews 4:1 (AMP) Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still holds and is offered [today], let us be afraid [to distrust it], lest any of you should think he has come too late and has come short of [reaching] it.

Hebrews 4:2-3 (NCV)

2 The Good News was preached to us just as it was to them. But the teaching they heard did not help them, because they heard it but did not accept it with faith.

3 We who have believed are able to enter and have God's rest. As God has said,
"I was angry and made a promise,
'They will never enter my rest.'" — Psalm 95:11
But God's work was finished from the time he made the world.

Hebrews 4:4-5 (NCV)

4
In the Scriptures he talked about the seventh day of the week: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his works."

5 And again in the Scripture God said, "They will never enter my rest."

Hebrews 4:6 (CEV) This means that the promise to enter is still good, because those who first heard about it disobeyed and did not enter.

Hebrews 4:7-8 (AMP)

Again He sets a definite day, [a new] Today, [and gives another opportunity of securing that rest] saying through David after so long a time in the words already quoted, Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts.
[This mention of a rest was not a reference to their entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest, He [God] would not speak afterward about another day.

Hebrews 4:9-10 (NKJV)

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Hebrews 4:11-12 (KJV)

11
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:13 (NCV) Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV)

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
