Love Makes Your Election and Calling Sure

The Word says that we will never stumble if we do these things.

Peter 1:10-12 (NKJV)

10
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12 For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.

But what things could Peter possibly be talking about?

Peter 1:5-9 (NKJV)

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,

to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

You see, you can have ALL this FAITH IN GOD and talk ALL this “God stuff,” but if you treat others like dirt, and you can’t even act like a child of God, then others are going to say, “And she or he calls themselves a Christian!!!”

“If that is what a Christian is, then I can do better by myself!  If their God can’t change them, then why would I need HIM!!!”  These are the things that folks say when they see God’s Children acting up!!!

We have to show others love.  We have to show self-control and not complain and act bitter.  We can’t go around talking trash and being out of control!!!!  Because that is NOT showing love!!!!

1 John 3:18-21 (NKJV)

18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.

20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.

How can we say that we love others when we refuse to help those in the need out?!  In The Word, God tells us that we are to feed the hungry and help the poor!!!

1 John 3: 17 (NKJV) But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

Jesus showed the world that HE TRULY LOVED THEM BY GIVING HIS LIFE FOR THEM!!!

1 John 3:16-17 (NKJV) By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
