God Has A Purpose For Your Life!!!

Do you ever wonder why God put you on this earth???

Do you know that HE has a purpose for your life???

I know that sometimes we are scared of what God has for us, but God promises us good things!!!!  He has good plans for us!!!

Jeremiah 29:11 (CEB) I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.

Do you know that when things do NOT go your way and you do NOT get to do what you had planned, it isn’t always the devil trying to cause you trouble?

Sometimes God will close a door or He may allow the devil to get in our way to head us down the road that HE knows we should go on.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Don’t we know and understand by now that God sees and knows everything!!!  And HE certainly knows what is best for us and what we need to be doing!!!

I can tell you this from experience!!!  But I can also show you a place where it teaches us this in God’s Word!!!

In 1 Samuel 29:1-10, we find David serving King Achish and getting ready to go out and fight.  But the Philistines want nothing at all to do with David because they do NOT trust him.  They know that David is a mighty man in battle and that he once served King Saul.  The philistines tell King Achish to send David and his men home.  So, King Achish sends David and his men home.

So, David and his men rise early the next morning to return to the city that King Achish has given them, the city called Ziklag.

And though it may seem as though the devil was there stirring up trouble for David, we can see that God sent David and his men home for a purpose!!!

1 Samuel 30:1-8 (NKJV)

1 Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire,

and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way.

So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive.

Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive.

Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”

And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.

What if David had been gone a month or so longer because he been allowed to fight with Achish?  What if he hadn’t come right home???  What would have become of his family or the families of his men??

David came home because God had a purpose for sending him home!!!  And because David obeyed God, he was victorious!!!

1 Samuel 30:18-19 (NKJV)

18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives.

19 And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.
