If any man preach another gospel...

As I begin to talk to the Lord about what to post today, so many things began to flood my mind!!!

There are so many good things in God’s Word!!!  There are promises, and blessings, and warnings and they are all things that we need to know and to study!!!

Why?  Because we need to know God for ourselves, and we need to know what the Word of God says.

You know, it is all well and good to go to The House of the Lord or listen to a preaching message, but how are you going know if they are preaching the Word of the God or something else, if you don’t know what HE says in HIS WORD???

Do you know that you are responsible to know the Word of the Lord?  You are responsible to do what God says in HIS Word and to follow after it.

BUT THAT'S NOT FAIR, Kathy!  That's just NOT fair!!!  Why?  God's Word is available to every one.  There is no reason for anyone, especially in the USA, not to know the WORD.  We can go to the Dollar Store and buy a Bible, and some of the churches will even give you a Bible for free!!!

Now, I am not saying at all that we should NOT go to church.

What I am saying is that when we go to church, we should take our Bibles with us, and a notepad or composition book (something to write notes on.)

We need to know and study what the MAN or WOMAN of God is preaching.

We should be following along in our Bibles to make sure that what he or she is saying is in the WORD!!!  Now, I know that sometimes, a preacher is preaching from one version and our Bible is another.

And I know that sometimes, a preacher gets to preaching and in their zeal and excitement, they will start preaching from one verse after saying they are in another.  I have sat in church and watched it happen.

People make mistakes!!!  Even preachers!!!  It’s NOT these folks that I am talking about, it is those who somehow have gotten away from the WORD, and may even think they are still preaching the TRUTH (WORD of GOD) when they are not!!!

So, let me show you in the Word of God where it explains what I am saying, today.

Look with me at Galatians 1.  Here Paul is writing a Word of Warning to the church in Galatia:

Galatians 1 (Common English Bible)

Greeting
1 From Paul, an apostle who is not sent from human authority or commissioned through human agency, but sent through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead; 2 and from all the brothers and sisters with me.

To the churches in Galatia.  3 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 He gave himself for our sins, so He could deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. 5 To God be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
The gospel challenged in Galatia
6 I’m amazed that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ to follow another gospel. 7 It’s not really another gospel, but certain people are confusing you and they want to change the gospel of Christ.

8 However, even if we ourselves or a heavenly angel should ever preach anything different from what we preached to you, they should be under a curse. 9 I’m repeating what we’ve said before: if anyone preaches something different from what you received, they should be under a curse!
Paul’s leadership
10 Am I trying to win over human beings or God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I wouldn’t be Christ’s slave. 11 Brothers and sisters, I want you to know that the gospel I preached isn’t human in origin. 12 I didn’t receive it or learn it from a human. It came through a revelation from Jesus Christ.

I like how Paul says, 7 It’s not really another gospel, but certain people are confusing you and they want to change the gospel of Christ.

8 However, even if we ourselves or a heavenly angel should ever preach anything different from what we preached to you, they should be under a curse. 9 I’m repeating what we’ve said before: if anyone preaches something different from what you received, they should be under a curse!

Now, that sounds pretty plain, but just in case someone doesn’t understand this, let me explain so that there is no doubt.  Everyone has the right to their own opinion and they can stand around all day telling everyone their opinion.

But no one has the right to get up in GOD’s HOUSE and preach anything, except the TRUE WORD of GOD!!!  And that isn’t my opinion!!!  It comes from the WORD of GOD!!!

And just in case you missed it, here are verses 8 & 9 again!  This time in the King James.

Galatians 1: 8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

And the reason I wanted to make sure that everyone understood this part is because there is a curse attached to this!!!  There is a curse attached to getting up in the
HOUSE of GOD and saying, “I am preaching the WORD of God,”
and then telling folks a whole bunch of lies or traditions, and sometimes even opinions!!!

Mark 7:13 (KJV) 13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Mark 7:13 (AMP) 13Thus you are nullifying and making void and of no effect [the authority of] the Word of God through your tradition, which you [in turn] hand on. And many things of this kind you are doing.

Mark 7:13 (CEB) 13 In this way you do away with God’s word in favor of the rules handed down to you, which you pass on to others. And you do a lot of other things just like that.”

Isaiah 29:13 (KJV) 13Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.

Isaiah 29:13 (CEV) 13The Lord has said:  "These people praise me with their words, but they never really think about me.  They worship me by repeating rules made up by humans.

A CURSE!!!  Oh, my!!!
Yes, a curse!!!  But God doesn’t just leave us blind nor does he leave us ignorant (not knowing.)  As long as we don’t do what He says is a curse to us, then we have NOTHING to worry about!!!

I am not saying that you cannot voice your opinion in the House of God.  All you have to say is, “This is my opinion!!!”

I can just hear someone saying, “Well, I don’t believe in curses!!!”

Well, it really doesn’t matter what you believe, because it says in the Word of God that God watches over HIS WORD to perform it.

Jeremiah 1:12  12Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
The Amplified Bible says, 12Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

I was trying to figure out how to tell you that in several places in God’s Word, HE tells us NOT to speak lies in HIS NAME and that if you go around lying on HIM, HE will make you pay for it.
That’s when God told me to say it this way.  “If you go around telling lies in MY NAME, I am going to make you wish that you had not done so!!!”

Jeremiah 23 (KJV)

1Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

 2
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

3And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

4And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.

5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

 7Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

8But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

9Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.

10For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.

11For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.

12Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

13And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

15Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

16Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

17They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

18For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?

19Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

20The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

22But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

23Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

24Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

25I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

 26How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;

27Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

28The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.

29Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

30Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.

31Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

32Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

33And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.

34And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.

35Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

36And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.

37Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

 38But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;

39Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:

40And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
